A waterwheel could scoop up trash coming from the San Diego Creek before it pollutes Upper Newport Bay. The idea has been floating around the City of Newport Beach for a while and could cost around $750,000 to $1 million to implement. It would be a temporary solution for 10-12 years before a permanent facility could be installed farther up the Creek.
