Indigenous Acknowledgment

Orange County, where the majority of Friends of Harbors, Beaches and Parks’ work is focused, is on the ancestral homelands of the Acjachemen (Juaneño) and Gabrieliño people. We pay respect to the Indigenous People whose land was forcibly colonized and recognize the importance of the tribal relationship to the land past, present, and future.

County Seeks Input on General Plan, Due 3/15

The County of Orange is in the process of updating the General Plan. Each city and county in California is required to have a General Plan, which serves as a guiding document for long-term growth and development. The County of Orange General Plan primarily focuses on the unincorporated areas of Orange County – territory that is not located within a city. For example, the canyon areas are governed by the County General Plan (and two specific plans). The General Plan also addresses regional services and facilities provided by the County such as regional parks, roads, and flood control facilities. The County is soliciting your opinion and input via a survey. One per person may be completed. The survey will close at 5:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2024. Take the Survey!
