scwrp grants

SCWRP has two grant programs: small grants and large grants. This information is meant to provide a brief overview for you. More information can be obtained through SCWRP staff member Shawn Kelly.

Small Grants – Community Wetland Restoration Grant Program
This program is funded by the Earth Island Institute and provides approximately $200,000 each year for grants of from $1,000 - $30,000 throughout the 5-county region. Applications were due in April of 2009 and will be available again next spring.

Large Grants
Applications for large grants can be made every other year and, if approved, are placed on the SCWRP Work Plan as Tier 1, Tier 2, or Incubator Projects.

Tier 1: (High Priority Projects) These are projects that protect or restore functioning habitat, they may involve larger acreage or resources at risk of destruction. Tier 1 projects will have the highest priority for available WRP funds.

Tier 2: (Medium Priority Projects) These are projects that either involve smaller areas or more general landscape level planning as opposed to project implementation.
