Mitigation Program Being Evaluated for SoCal

with No Comments

Regional Advanced Mitigation Programs (RAMP) allow for early protection, restoration or enhancement (known as mitigation) of natural habitats to offset the damage done by infrastructure projects. Instead of doing that mitigation one project at time it is done comprehensively through a RAMP. Friends of Harbors, Beaches & Parks (FHBP) negotiated for and helped develop Orange County’s RAMP with the OCTA. Now, Caltrans is currently working on a SoCal RAMP Needs Assessment. This is a step in the right direction to improve our transportation systems AND simultaneously protect and restore the land.
