The saga of the Upper Newport Bay Park sale continues as the proposed purchaser of said park parcel (Buck Johns) now sues the County. Opponents of the sale, like Friends of Harbors, Beaches & Parks (FHBP), are asking that the fence be removed because it encloses public parkland. Letters were sent by the Coastal Commission and State Lands Commission stating the fence is in violation of the terms of the land’s preservation.
