Friends of Harbors, Beaches and Parks (FHBP) consultant Melanie Schlotterbeck is one of three speakers featured by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) for its Toolbox Tuesday.

Webinar Description:
With the threat of climate change and Southern California’s growing population, conservation of natural and agricultural lands is more important than ever. This Toolbox Tuesday covers opportunities, resources and strategies for conservation on the local and regional level.

Speakers & Topics:

  • Melanie Schlotterbeck (FHBP) will focus on the Green Vision Map, Measure M2 Environmental Mitigation Program and best practices related to conservation tools and policies.
  • Paolo Perrone (The Trust for Public Land) will discuss  roles and responsibilities for cities and other government entities looking to preserve habitat, open space, and cultural resources and highlight Prop 68 (the statewide Parks Bond).
  • Carrie Schloss (The Nature Conservancy) will speak on the Conservation Module, a natural resource accounting tool which reports potential impacts to habitat, agriculture, water resources, and land-based carbon from alternative land use scenarios.
