Goats Brought in For Fuel Modification

In light of the recent fires, agencies are stepping up efforts for improved fire prevention. Goats have long been used in Laguna Canyon and now Anaheim has brought them in to clear out the wildland urban interface and provide a fuel break between open spaces and communities. Interestingly each goat can eat up to 12 pounds of plant material a day–another benefit is that they don’t complain and can easily climb steep slopes.
