LA Times Editorial Board Warns of Homes in Fire Areas

The Los Angeles Times Editorial Board wrote a piece about building in high fire areas. “Stricter building codes and more fire engines cannot eliminate the dangers of living in high fire-risk areas.” This is an important point as projects continue to be proposed in Orange County and throughout the region/state that put people and property in jeopardy.
Friends of Harbors, Beaches & Parks (FHBP) has opposed numerous projects at the wildland-urban interface due to the wildfire risk and lack of evacuation routes in areas proven to be unsafe. We even recommended transferring the density to safer locations out of the fire zone.
