Friends of Harbors, Beaches & Parks (FHBP) is proud to support Senate Bills 49 and 50.
SB 49 is designed to strengthen the existing environmental protections by incorporating into state law existing federal protections for clean air, clean water, endangered species, safe drinking water, and worker protections.
SB 50 establishes a state process to ensure that federal lands in California are protected, and that, where feasible public lands are protected through state action.
This means attempts to weaken federal foundational standards will not reduce existing protections for California’s people or environment.
